  8. Some comments on our proposed schedule for the lessons, and how
  9. I will be labelling them.

  11.   At the moment, I plan to post a lesson  Tuesday morning and
  12. Friday morning.  If this turns out to be overwhelming (for me or for
  13. you), we may revert to once a week, on Tuesdays.
  14.  
  15.   For the Tuesday posting, I would like to receive "answers" by
  16. Saturday morning, so I can work on them on the weekend.  For the
  17. Friday posting,  I would expect to get them the following Tuesday
  18. or Wednesday.  While the lessons are cumulative, I don't think it
  19. will prove to be necessary to have the answers from #1 in before posting
  20. Lesson #2, or #3 before #4 ...  so the overlap won't hurt.  I will post
  21. answers on the following Tuesdays and Fridays, but if you aren't ready
  22. for them yet, and can resist peeking,  you can ignore them until you
  23. have had time to work through your own answers.  If some of you can
  24. only work on the weekends,  once a week posting of answers is OK with
  25. me.  The lessons are reasonably short, and I think you will find that
  26. doing two at once is not too much of a strain.

  28. LABELLING:
  29.             I plan to use the same pattern of labels for each lesson:
  30. #1-A, #1-B, #1-C, #2-A, #2-B, #2-C, ...   In each case, the -A will
  31. be the initial presentation of the lesson, with the exercise questions
  32. only;  the -B  will be the answers, with some commentary on them; and
  33. the -C  will be for any further comments that people want to make,
  34. including native speakers contributing their insights and corrections.

  36.    Thus, if you want to avoid looking at the answers until you're ready,
  37. avoid the -B's!

  40. POSTING ANSWERS

  42.             I thought it would be best to have people post their answers
  43. directly to me -- otherwise Gaelic-L will be clogged up with many repetitive
  44. screeds which will drive the non-learners to distraction!

  46.             If I find I can't handle the traffic, either we can organize
  47. others to help  ---or--  I could take queries only, either before or after
  48. the -B  is posted.

  50.             For now, however, please post answers to me. It is helpful to
  51. me to see what people are writing, as feedback to what I should be doing.
  52. Also, I think it helps to motivate learning ... to have to commit pen to
  53. paper (well, key to keyboard).

  56. POSTING LESSONS
  57.            Tim asked if we might post the lessons directly to the elem-ig
  58. group rather than to Gaelic-L.  Marion informs us that it would help Gaelic-L
  59. to post the lessons there, so we expect to continue to do this.  Also, it
  60. occurs to me that others may want to join later on, and would be able to
  61. find back lessons in the Gaelic-L archives.
